i think that the reform in America was caused by these three things becasue
social- The socail reform helped progressivism in ways such as the 19th Andemendt which gave women the right to vote.
political- the political refome helped progressivim becasue of the presdent being elected and passing the Clayton Antitrust act of 1914
economic- the ecominic refore was that the presdent had just started the new banking system so peoples money was better protected.

The US has been ruling over Puerto Rico for a while, but they haven’t always wanted us to rule over them. A lot of Puerto Ricans wanted to an independence or statehood, so that they would have more rights. But Puerto Rico becoming a state was denied by the Supreme Court, but they are able to elect to both their house and legislature.

The consequences of the Spanish war were that America gained more land like Porto Rico, Philippians islands, and Guam.
2. Why did the Treaty of Paris cause such debate among Americans?
The treaty of Paris created a debate among Americans because there were a lot of different views. Some of them were that people want us to fix our racial problems before we fixed other peoples, the president wanted to Christianize the Filipinos and a lot of people disagreed with that.

What kind of programs do you think helped immigrants the most?
A: I think that when Addams and Starr stated the kindergarten and English lessons, helped the immigrants the most because the kindergarten helped them be able to work more and the English lesson helped them learn the langue that we speak here which would allow them to get more jobs.
On what basis do you think Addams qualified for the noble peace prize?

Q: if the government had supported unions instead of management in the late 19th century, how might the lives of workers have been different?
A: they would have been better because they ended up supporting it, so the earlier the better.
Q: Why did workers form unions in the late 19th century
A: Workers saw that the business men had formed unions so they thought that they should also because of a lot of different things but mainly it was the southern workers join together to try to get thing more like the north where they are more faire.

Chapter 14-2
The last 30 years of the nineteenth century is considered the age of railroads because they built railroads that went from coast to coast.
I agree with Melville because he comments about the pollution that the trains make but I also don’t agree with Melville because he also comments about how going slow is better. I would have to disagree with him because when I travel I like to get there.
Now I think that computer’s influence all aspects of American life.
